Medical weight management is weight loss supervised by clinicians. It combines a clinical assessment of your health, an evidence-based treatment plan where treatment is appropriate, and structured follow-up over months. What separates it from commercial dieting is that a prescriber assesses suitability, monitors progress, and manages any treatment alongside the rest of your health.

Tolerability, other conditions and existing medicines all bear on which treatment is appropriate, and that decision belongs to a prescriber.
How much weight can you lose on weight loss injections?
Published trials report mean reductions of roughly 8% for liraglutide over 56 weeks, around 15% for semaglutide over 68 weeks, and around 21% for tirzepatide over 72 weeks. Individual results vary considerably, and every trial paired treatment with dietary and activity change.
What happens if you stop taking weight loss medication?
Appetite typically returns to its previous level and weight regain is common without a maintenance plan. This is why treatment is provided alongside structured support rather than on its own, and why any decision to stop should be discussed with your prescriber.
