Weight management changed faster between 2023 and 2026 than in the previous thirty years. Treatments arrived that produce results no diet programme had achieved, and an industry assembled itself around them almost overnight: questionnaire-and-dispatch websites, unlicensed vials sold as research chemicals, and marketing that promises outcomes no clinician would.

The gap that opened was not access. Access became easy. What became scarce was a provider that assesses whether treatment is appropriate, says no when it is not, and stays involved after the prescription is written.

That is the whole of our position. Medication is one component of weight management, and the components around it are what determine whether the result lasts.

Every assessment is reviewed by a named prescriber. Weight-management medicines are classed as high-risk, which means a prescriber cannot rely on a questionnaire alone: your information is verified independently, through direct contact, your clinical records, or your GP.

Some assessments end without treatment. That is the process working rather than failing, and it is the clearest difference between a clinical service and a shop.

Treatment, where it is appropriate, comes with scheduled reviews to manage dose changes and side effects, and a maintenance plan for the phase after weight loss. Appetite returns when treatment stops, and regain is common without one.

Every clinical claim on this site is sourced to NICE, the MHRA, the NHS, a manufacturer Summary of Product Characteristics, or a published trial, and the source is named on the page rather than buried in a footer.

We publish figures that are inconvenient as readily as figures that are not. Our page on Ozempic says plainly that it is licensed for type 2 diabetes and not for weight management. Our comparison page reports what the head-to-head trial found rather than what would sell best.
